South Lake Tahoe Hotels and Reservation is one of my favorite places to visit, no matter what the season. Although I can not ski to save my life, I've been there several times in winter to snow angels, or to admire the slopes of toast inside a cabin sipping a hot chocolate. South Lake Tahoe Hotels and Reservation has some good hotels to choose from when you visit - that it all depends on what type of accommodation. There are smaller hotels, motels, condos and cabins to explore.
The Sunterra Lake Tahoe is the best choice if you are looking for a good resort in the area, which is closer to the marina, the lake and the casinos. (FYI: this is called a resort in Lake Tahoe Resort Vacaton - easier to search the Internet.) If you're thinking about this place, book early to try to snag a room with serene views of the beautiful South Lake Tahoe Hotels and Reservation, it is definitely worth it. Studios can get up to two large bedrooms. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms, most with whirlpool tubs and flat-screen TVs - all rooms have kitchenettes. The only downside to this feature is that it is a time-share - so if you're not a member, you're probably not good that you will get a room with a view ... but it's well worth a try.
A hotel with a rustic feel to it, but still provides all the amenities to be a good solution, try the Marriott Timber Lodge. A complete renovation of the apartment complex was recently completed, so no worries about construction noise. It is situated in the middle of all the new Heavenly Village shops and casinos, restaurants, so that is good enough. The best part? You're thirty steps from the Heavenly Gondola, which is up to the slopes! A variety of rooms and suites are booked, and whirlpool tubs and fireplaces are available in the villas. A restaurant called Fire and Ice on the spot and get good reviews. Again, though, this place is a timeshare ... so be forewarned. This is a great place, though.
No interest will not be anywhere related to a timeshare, you say? I know. What about the Holiday Inn Express? This is a very clean, comfortable and friendly hotel, which is set back a bit so the journey by road is not disturbed by any noise. Free breakfast is free, people! This place is a great value, especially if you plan to in the neighborhood for a week, and if you want to save some money. And you're only 1 / 2 miles from the Heavenly ski resort and you're very close to all the shops and restaurants in downtown South Lake Tahoe. Good deal!
